Studies have consistently shown that negative emotions such as shame, which is the most damaging, followed by guilt, grief, fear, anxiety, craving, anger and hatred, actually weaken your body. Unfortunately, by the time you start to become aware of things going wrong physically, in the form of pain or illness, it means you've probably been holding onto, and have buried, those feelings for quite some time.
Conversely, positive emotions strengthen your body so technically that means laughing is good for you and let's face it, laughing feels good right?
